PLAYGROUP-PRE KINDER – KINDER

Due to the Covid19 pandemic and the situation in the country today, we have adjusted our 2021 admission process, eliminating all face-to-face stages until further announcement by the Ministry of Education to open schools. 

However, we will continue with the online Admission process and we will be informing you permanently, via email, regarding any variation that this situation warrants.

We appreciate your understanding regarding the changes in virtual communications, dates, and deadlines as a consequence of the prevention measures that we must carry out during this exceptional period.

 

I. Enrollment during pandemic times.

All the interested families should send all the requested documents to marcela.figueroa@lirima.cl, our Admissions Department responsable. Please to submit the information take into account the application due date.

Before any evaluation or family interview, it is extremely important that the documents are presented at the Admissions office. No evaluation will be considered without these documents. During the confinement the documentation must be sent via email.

New parents must complete the Registration form. Families that belong to the Lirima community and wish to apply for another child, formalize the application online at Schoolnet

II. New application period.

The new application period will be open from August 3rd 2020 until October 23th, 2020. In case of vacancies after this date, a new evaluation will be called.

Age required for admission

Playgroup: 3 years old as of March 31, 2021
Prekinder: 4 years old as of March 31, 2021
Kinder: 5 years old as of March 31, 2021

Applications will not be accepted if the child does not meet the required age.

Documentation sent by email must be submitted to the admission office for its records.

Documentation to be sent by email

• Copy of the original birth certificate.
• Photocopy of the identity card of the applicant and parents.
• 2 Passport size photos with name
• Garden Report 2019 and the current year (if applicable).
• Registration fee PCH$ 28,000 (twenty-eight thousand pesos). Payment is made at the school or via electronic transfer in WEBPAY PORTAL DE PAGOS, once the admission manager reviews the documentation and sends its approval via email.

Stages of the process

1.- Complete the Registration form.
2.- Parent Interview.
3.- Observation and evaluation session.

III. Evaluation process in normal admission times

Evaluation:
The children applying to the levels of Playgroup, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will be summoned in groups of no more than 8 applicants to an observation day in which they will have a moment of free play and a second stage of directed activities. The evaluation lasts approximately 40 minutes. The objective is to evaluate cognitive and socio-behavioral skills in the applicants and if they are in accordance with the College expectations.

Interview
Parents must attend a personal interview with the admission staff. The date and time will be set and communicated via email.

Applicants with siblings in the school will have priority to fill these vacancies, as well as the children of officials and children of former students of the College.

Outcomes communication
Parents for admitted applicants shall be notified by email within one week from the evaluations date.

Waiting list
The names of the best applicants shall be kept in a special record, to proceed to an interview with the parents in case there are new open vacancies

IV. Enrollment.

The family will have a period of 5 business days to enroll their ward from the acceptance notification.

V. Vacancies.

Open vacancies for these levels will always depend on the withdrawals and quotas that occur during the year. The school reserves the right to select its applicants considering their educational background and the admission process results.

VI. Admission process in Santiago.

Applicants from Santiago and surroundings who wish to be evaluated in Santiago, must complete the Registration form. Subsequently, they should email the academic records and family history to marcela.figueroa@lirima.cl , or send them by certified mail to Av. La Tirana 4650, Iquique.

The evaluation and interview date in Santiago will be set and communicated with each family.

VII. Applications from abroad

Applications for admission from abroad are received throughout the year, for this they must send an email to marcela.figueroa@lirima.cl and visit the virtual tour on the College’s website.

VIII. Visits to the school are suspended during pandemic times.
