English literacy

The development of language skills in a second language such as listening, speaking, reading and writing play a fundamental role in communication, social life, thought and the artistic and intellectual development of students. The educational process plays an irreplaceable role in language learning and in the development of cultural, communicative and reflection skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The Lirima School incorporated the English language into its teaching methodology since 2017 in all its cycles, an approach based on the teaching of “Literacy Program” that deepens the development of reading and comprehension skills.

With this methodology, our students learn from the language they hear; Hence, the more varied and enriching the language environment, the more successful the development of language skills and elements of the English language.

The process of acquiring a second language must be full of images and vocabulary that literature offers us, in order to understand, produce texts and process information, deepening and building the learning of our students.

The educational process is essential for the development of cultural, communicative and reflection skills on languages, thus achieving a full life and free, critical and informed participation in our contemporary society. That is why exposure to literature in the English language constitutes a powerful means for the transmission of culture, the integration of areas of knowledge such as; history, music, art, and the enrichment of conceptual universes and the formation of values. Who we are and the world in which we exist are, to a significant extent, founded on our language skills.
